What our fans have to say..

It just makes an LP12 sing much more naturally

The difference the Starmap makes is very difficult to put into words, and before I wax on lyrically, suffice to say that it just makes an LP12 sing much more naturally.

The ease of setup with improved accessibility to the balancing springs is a great bonus and shortens the time required to do this.

Also, because of the perfectly flat top plate, suspension screws point straight down and don’t require time-consuming manipulation, and the actual balancing process is quick and the suspension doesn’t “drift” as with the standard curved Linn top plate.

Improvement in the noise floor is startling!

Received my Linn LP12 with Dewaudio Starmap Upgrade. Sounds much, much better with the upgraded base and top plate, even on my modest system. The improvement in the noise floor is startling.

Lots of other areas of the sound are greatly improved. Haven’t heard all the other upgrades from overseas manufacturers, but I’m most certain this product can compete with the best out there. Well done to Dewaudio for a great product at a very good price.

Wow! Amazing. Can it get any better?

I hate sales bullshit, you did not say much, had a hunch your product would be great! My purchase has exceeded my expectations.

I'm ecstatic!

Just a note to express my appreciation for the Switching Unit you have just built and installed for me.

To say that I am happy is a big understatement - I'm ecstatic! Everything from the initial wish list has been realised in a way that beggars belief.

A significant overall improvement to the classic LP12!

So how does the Sondek LP12 sound after the Dewaudio Starmap upgrade, compared to the Sondek LP12 before the upgrade?

A significant overall reduction in noise floor - yes, the stock LP12, by todays' standard, is noisy. Sound stage enlarged in all three dimensions. Significant reduction in artificial mid-to lower bass bloom. Virtually removes upper bass and midrange colouration typical of the stock LP12. Much improved resolution and separation of layers of detail within the sound stage.

An improved sense of timing and rhythm. A sense of stability with regards to imaging. All things considered, a significant overall improvement to the classic LP12!
